This week is Maths Week in Powerstown ETNS. We will be taking part in lots of fun activities. We are having a Maths for Fun morning on Wednesday, all parents are invited to come in and help out. Please see the letter below for more information.
This week we started Aistear, our theme for the month is Homes. We had lots of fun playing in our home corner, using the big blocks and drawing our houses.
This week is Road Safety Week. Eimear from the Road Safety Authority visited our class today. She told us a story about being safe on the road. We are learning the Safe Cross Code and have received hi-vis jackets to wear when we are walking. You can find the song and more information about Road Safety on the RSA website. Safe Cross Code Lyrics
1,2,3, Safe Cross, 4,5,6, Safe Cross, 1,2,3,4,5,6, Safe Cross Code Remember, one, look for a safe place two, don’t hurry, stop and wait, three, look all around and listen before you cross the road, remember, four, let all the traffic pass you five, then walking straight across you six, keep watching, that's the Safe Cross Code!!!!! We are looking for parent volunteers for activities (such as shared reading, maths for fun, science for fun, school tours, outings, swimming, sports events, etc)
If you are interested in helping out in school at any stage during the year, you are required to be Garda Vetted first. Please contact Ann Marie or the office if you are interested in helping out and require forms to complete the Garda Vetting process. This week we have been learning lots about healthy food. We love fruit and vegetables and we have healthy lunches everyday in school.
We will be celebrating Peace Day as a whole school tomorrow.
Here are some peace symbols the Ash class made using our cutting and gluing skills. |
